Two women with different stories gave the base to the Festival: Cilene and Miliza, the artist and creative, the second the organizer and realizer. Their roads crossed on their way to their passions: Yoga and Madeira! Joining their enthusiasm, vibrant energy and love of life, they decided to realize a vision which seemed obvious to both: an international Yoga Festival within the dramatic landscapes of Madeira. Bringing a vast array of yoga practices to Madeirans and making yogis from all over the world discover the island.

"The one thing that you have that nobody else has is you. Your voice, your mind, your story, your vision. So write and draw and build and play and dance and live as only you can."
- Neil Gaiman -

The City Hall of Machico and the parish of Porto da Cruz immediately gave their support to the Yoga Festival, promoted it any stage, assuring the security and set up of the outdoors venues, the organization of traffic and transportation facilities and much more.

Cilene is born in Brasil, living with her husband and sons on Madeira. Yoga is her passion and every day’s routine. She is Integral Yoga Teacher certified by Yoga Alliance and Air Yoga Master Teacher Level, certified by the International School of Yoga, Dance, Air Pilates and Air Yoga in Madrid. Ever since, she has been teaching classes and workshops.

She sets up the Festival’s program, instructors and venues. She also assures that healthy food, might it be vegetarian, non-vegetarian or vegan will be available at any stage of the Festival, together with other products for the Festival goers’ needs or pleasure.

Miliza is born on the south side of Alps, grew up in Switzerland, studied hotel and tourism business, completed her education with project management and managed during 15 years the organization and administration of real estate projects in Europe and Asia. She then decided to return to the tourism business and discovered Madeira, fell in love with the island – alike many other visitors who return or never leave again.

She’s in charge of all organizational aspects of the Festival, the marketing tools, the website, the activities off-yoga, passionate about making discover Madeira to the world. But she also is Integral Yoga Teacher certified by Yoga Alliance, a dedicated Ashtanga Yoga practitioner for many years and loves regular stays in the rice fields and yoga houses of Ubud, Bali.
